Re: Erfahrungen Horwin EK1
Hello,
I'm new on this forum which I follow since I have decided to go for the Horwin EK1, instead of UNU.
I just ordered my moped and waiting now to receive it.
I need some recommendations and suggestions from those with EK1 experience:
1. What kind of insurance do you recommend to cover also the theft possibility?
2. Under sit compartment is big enough for a L size helmet? For good weather I'll use an open-face helmet and for rainy weather a closed-face helmet.
3. How do you keep the moped secured when is parked outside? With big chain tied to a tree or something? Or a special blocking wheel system?
Sorry, my German is not so good. When reply, please do it in German and I'll translate it if necessary
Thank you for your support!

Re: Erfahrungen Horwin EK1
Good choice in my opinion. I also had to cancel my Unu order and got one of these EK1 and after 2.000 km without Real issues I do not regret it.Andrei A.C. hat geschrieben: ↑Do 16. Sep 2021, 08:53Hello,

1. I guess most people go with no additional insurance. Only the one you have to have in Germany for this kind of vehicles (~ 40 €/a).
2. I have the Origine Primo Classic helmet in XL and it fits in there, also when the battery is in at the same time. Its close, but with correct positioning is does fit well. I doubt a closed helmet fits and I use the open one for rainy days, too. Just drove an hour to work this morning with heavier rain, but open helmet works for me.
3. It has a blocking system already included for the steering thing. That's all I use. Also, I have not seen someone who uses chains to fix it somewhere...

Re: Erfahrungen Horwin EK1
I totally aggree with siguras.
Regarding point 3 I would suggest a brake-disc-lock like this: https://www.amazon.de/Kryptonite-000884 ... 163&sr=8-1

Re: Erfahrungen Horwin EK1
Thank you guys!
I'll follow your suggestions and recommendations!
I can't sleep the nights thinking of this moped
I'm 38 years old soon, but I act like a 16 years old now
Like others, I want to drive it as much as possible to work office. Cca 30km both ways.
It's should be fun and also environmental friendly. Win-Win situation.
To bad that Hamburg or Niedersachsen dont offer bonuses for electric mobility like Munich.
